01Term

Entity

In Vialuce, an entity is any unit that participates in a compensation plan: a salesperson, an agent, a franchise, a channel, a restaurant. Pricing is based on the number of active entities — not on internal users or admin seats.

02Term

Deterministic engine

A system where the same input always produces the same output, with no variation. Vialuce's calculation engine is 100% deterministic: it does not use estimates or probabilities. If the same plan and the same data go in twice, the result is identical. AI interprets and assists — the engine always calculates the same way.

03Term

GPoV — Guided Proof of Value

A 45-minute session where Vialuce processes the prospect's real data: imports the compensation plan document, maps the fields, runs the first calculation, and shows auditable results with five-layer drill-down. Not a demo with fake data. The proof is yours, not another company's case study.

04Term

ICM — Incentive Compensation Management

Variable compensation management. The process of calculating, administering and communicating commissions, bonuses and other incentives to sales and channel teams. It is Vialuce's primary domain, but the architecture supports any incentive domain: franchise royalties, B2B rebates, operational performance scoring.

Nine structural primitives

The nine building blocks of Vialuce's calculation engine. Every compensation operation — commissions, royalties, rebates, team bonuses, tip pooling — composes from these nine primitives. No new domain requires custom code; only a new combination of existing primitives.

06Term

T-1 — Data latency

Data in Vialuce refreshes with t-1 latency: one business day. Not live streaming — it means when your day starts, yesterday's data is already processed and available.

07Term

Tenant

Every Vialuce customer is a tenant: a fully isolated instance with its own data, plans and configuration. The multi-tenant architecture guarantees that one customer's data never mixes with another's. Each tenant has its own Row-Level Security at the database level.

08Term

Reconciliation

The process of comparing Vialuce's calculation against the customer's existing system (Excel, ERP, previous platform) to verify that results match. The reconciliation engine works in five layers and surfaces false greens: cases where totals match but for the wrong reasons in the components.

09Term

Attainment

The percentage of quota a salesperson achieves in a given period. The basis for calculating commission tiers: for example, 0–50% attainment may have a different commission rate than 80–100% or 100%+. Plans with multiple attainment tiers are the most common use case in enterprise ICM.

10Term

ML Flywheel

A system that improves with accumulated platform use. The longer Vialuce operates on an organization's data, the more precise its plan interpretations, field mappings and anomaly detection become. It does not require customer-team intervention to improve.

11Term

Korean Method

A tip-calculation and revenue-distribution methodology used in hospitality and restaurant ops environments. Instead of each worker keeping their own tips, the Korean method defines a collective pool redistributed by role, shift and performance KPI. Vialuce supports this model natively in its Restaurant Operations domain.

Calculation Forensics

The ability to drill down on any Vialuce result to see every individual transformation that produced it. Five layers of traceability: from the final number to the source data. The ICM industry standard is a black box — the result appears without explanation. Vialuce shows the complete reasoning at every step.

Vialuce Agents

The platform's three modules. The Compensation Agent manages calculation and communication of any type of variable compensation on a 100% deterministic engine. The Revenue Agent produces revenue intelligence from payment-grade transaction truth — momentum, growth bridge, incentive yield. The Intelligence Agent pre-generates insights when data arrives and activates Performance Optimization when the other two agents operate simultaneously.

Five Layers of Proof

Vialuce's traceability system. Every result computed by the deterministic engine can be traced backward through five layers to the source transaction. Guarantees that any number — a commission, a rebate, a tip distribution — can be explained line by line to any rep disputing it or any CFO auditing it.

15Term

Clawback

The recovery of a commission already paid when the sale that generated it is reversed, the customer cancels within the guarantee period, or a plan condition is breached. In Vialuce, clawbacks are calculated with the same deterministic engine that calculated the original commission, with full audit trail and approval flow.

16Term

Growth bridge

The decomposition of revenue growth into its components: additional volume in existing products, mix shift toward higher-value products, new customers, or lower churn of existing customers. When combined with compensation data, it shows what portion of growth is attributable to the incentive structure paid to generate it.

17Term

Incentive yield

The revenue generated per peso of commission paid, broken down by product, region, salesperson or plan component. It's the metric that connects the cost of incentives with the return they generated. Requires that revenue data and compensation data run on the same source of truth — it cannot be calculated reliably when the systems are independent.

Payout gradient

The expected incremental return of working a specific opportunity, calculated in the context of the salesperson's current state: attainment, plan rules, time remaining in the period and other opportunities in their pipeline. The system evaluates five signals: boundary value, effort-normalized value, time feasibility, protect risk and component headroom. If data is not sufficient to calculate with certainty, the system shows no result — it prefers silence to estimation.

19Term

Performance Optimization

The flagship capability of Vialuce's Intelligence Agent. Calculates the payout gradient of each salesperson and presents it across four surfaces: Overview (attainment distribution for quota decisions), Targets (inline management with audit trail), Scenarios (rehearsal mode with no saved changes), and Opportunity (Three Moves and wayfinder heatmap for reps and managers). Requires both the Compensation Agent and the Revenue Agent to be active simultaneously.

Three Moves

The three specific actions Performance Optimization presents to each salesperson as the highest-return set at this moment. Not a ranking of all their opportunities — the three that the payout gradient identifies as highest impact given the rep's current state, their plan and the time remaining in the period.
